Here is a bit of fun for someone out there. I was going to use these book spine textures as link buttons on my website, but changed my mind… so they are looking for a good home. The file sizes are a bit more than 10cm tall at screen resolution… so they are ideal for adaption to buttons. They have been saved as .png files with a transparent background.

To get the different coloured books from only 8 spines in the sample above, I just played with the hue/saturation, levels and other adjustments a bit. . .

Have had a bit of a busy time the last few days, I can’t believe it is December tomorrow! where has the year gone to?

I drew these tree trunks for a project that looks like will go ahead in a different format… so these tree-trunks are going begging for a new home. They are loosely based on Australian smooth-barked gum trees.

And… Because they are vector, you can stretch them out long or wide, or flip them over, or warp them… making a veritable forest of trees from only five trunks (One or two would also make a nice boarder or frame for a scrapbook page). The light cream colour is a solid background for each trunk, with the darker lines on top.

Enjoy – and I would love to see what you create out of these….

Had a quiet evening the other day, watched a movie, listened to the rain on the roof and did a bit of doodling in the ad breaks and slow bits. Was a lovely flowing type of evening… and I guess these random design elements / flourishes are the result.
You can Download them here. Enjoy…

I had a rummage through my scrap paper basket today, looking for a nice rough paper texture to use for a piece of work and found more than I know what to do with!

So I thought I would share some of them: here are the 10 best ones. You can go here to download them – all of them or only one…

Oh! and they are tif files not jpg. … if this is a problem for anyone. drop a comment below and I’ll do some converting, but tif files should open in most programs… Alternatively, if you have a mac, GraphicConverter is quite good. GraphicConverter also makes great contact sheets (the program calls it a ‘catalog’) out of a folder of images – Like this one below (I added the numbers afterward)…

You can use this contact sheet to tell which file number has which texture…
